Mac recognizes that it is plugged into an external display (I think) but the Dell does not change from its own windows computer screen. I have tried playing with display settings on both the dell and the Mac. Is it possible to use Dell all-in-one computers as an external display?

Dell XPS 9500 has S3 support in the BIOS (you have to option to block it too) but the S3 implementation is broken. If you try to wake it up from S3, it freezes at the Dell Logo screen. With the 9700, you can disable both sign of life settings and S3 works normally. But with the 9500, Dell really royally effed up. Typical Dell Hell.

Jul 1, 2022 · I just bought Dell G15 and experience the same with Dell Support assist. maybe I will just not use that Dell support assist as it also crashed my laptop I used Dell Update software for the update of its bios and anything within my laptop I used AVG driver update to update other drivers as Dell wasn't able to do that really and used AVG tuneup to optimize my system.

Jan 16, 2022 · I define all of them as bloatwares as you can manually install drivers from your product support page, don't install graphics drivers from Dell though. SupportAssist/Dell update is useful if you are setting up a blank computer. I would download it, then uninstall it after installing all necessary drivers.

May 10, 2023 · I think they started preinstalling this app when Dell switched from shipping the systems with Win 10 22H2 instead of 21H2, because older systems but same model did not had this preinstalled. I cant'f find any information at dell.com nor does this app gets listed when searching for drivers etc. at dell support.

Jun 26, 2021 · Worked on Dell 7480 laptop. Dell said I need new motherboard as the password they gave didn't have the correct instructions of press CTRL +Enter. I entered and pressed CTRL + Enter once and it removed the BIOS password, unlocked it. This website also gave the same recovery password that Dell gave me.

Jul 17, 2022 · For the moment all works well with Dell Data Manager on 0% - 5% as it should be, made a test to see if my new created folders with data in it will disaper on next turning on and all good, as I understood from other sources "Dell Data Manager" works on saving data on cloud but I am not vey sure about this.
