Apr 18, 2015 · Obviously because the gt780 heatsink piping is different from say, gt72 or alienware, but I just need the aluminium part on top of the card right? Im asking because a friend said that the piping is usually too fragile for me to be able to take the aluminium off, its too tight.

Jul 19, 2011 · Also a few Alienware owners are having an issue with the unmodified OSD and Windows 8. Only the default Windows 8 OSD displays and not the Alienware version. Try the solution posted by Dell here and then attempt installing the mod. The below screenprint is a workaround by editing the security policies to allow the unsigned exe to run in Windows 8.

Jun 27, 2020 · So my laptop is Alienware 17 R1 P18E 2014 model. and use to be working with 13D7 ID device, now after reverting to 1617 it does also works normal, just that seems to work perfectly with a GPU ID device 1617. I think is what the Card originally was made for, and is how my laptop could read properly the vBios and its circuitry.

Apr 11, 2016 · I borrowed a GTX 970M from the Alienware 18 and Legacy support for Windows 7 is for real, and the 8-beep crap with Maxwell GPU is now nothing more than an unpleasant memory. I have not done the separate Intel Management Engine firmware update.

Apr 10, 2019 · I've been searching the internet for a custom bios mod for my Alienware 17 R3 system and I discovered that Prema mods are basically impossible to find. I did stumble upon another forums that suggested this place and see if anyone here would be willing to help mod the bios or know where I can find already modded bios.

Dec 30, 2012 · I have an Alienware M17x R4 3D with Nvidia GTX 675m as the the GPU. I am running the latest Bios A11 and have installed UEFI Windows 8 Pro. I can see the Secure Boot Option but its greyed out and disabled. Also there is a Legacy Cdrom which is enabled. I tried disabling it but I got the " Cant detect the MXM card GOP driver".
