As sources on Thursday confirmed Mike Waltz’s exit from his post as national security adviser, the impact of the U.S. government group chat leaks known as Signalgate, continues to expand.

President Donald Trump announced he will nominate Mike Waltz to be the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations just hours after reports came out that the national security adviser was getting ousted from his current position.

Waltz was at the center of the Signal chat controversy, in which a journalist was accidentally included in a discussion of sensitive military information.
