A new series based on the beloved 2006 romantic comedy "The Holiday" is in the works at Apple TV+. "The Holiday," directed by Nancy Meyers, starred Cameron Diaz as Amanda, a single American woman, and Kate Winslet as Iris, a single British woman.

Nancy Meyers -- who wrote, produced, and directed The Holiday -- revealed how she reacted when she "opened Instagram" and saw the news that a limited series based on the 2006 romantic comedy is in the works at Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ is developing a limited-series adaptation of 2006 Nancy Meyers romantic comedy movie The Holiday, a source with knowledge of the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter. The Meyers movie starred Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. Meyers is not involved in the adaptation — she didn’t even know about it.
