TUSKEGEE, Ala. -- Tuskegee University student Sid Guynn hid under a car when he heard the gunshots that ripped across his Alabama campus amid homecoming celebrations, then ran back to his dorm, frightened by what sounded to him like a machine gun.

It was just too many people here,” one student said. ”And a lot of people who weren’t supposed to be here made their way onto campus.”

"Students are our greatest asset, and we will do everything possible to protect them," the university's president said.

As REVOLT previously reported, a shooting unfolded at Tuskegee University on Sunday (Nov. 10), leaving one person dead and several others injured. USA Today revealed that 25-year-old Montgomery resident Jaquez Myrick was arrested in connection with the incident on a federal charge of possessing a machine gun.

There were multiple videos posted on social media about a shooting at the school, which was celebrating its 100th homecoming this weekend in Alabama.
