Seven people pleaded not guilty to charges in the killing of Sam Nordquist, a Black transgender 24-year-old man who was allegedly held captive and tortured in an upstate New York hotel room for more than a month.

Eaves — were charged with first-degree murder for killing Nordquist in an “especially cruel manner with the intent to inflict torture on him before his death,” Wolford said.

Nordquist, 24, was beaten, sexually assaulted, starved and forced to consume feces, urine and tobacco juice over the course of a month, officials said Wednesday.

The individuals accused of the torture and murder of Sam Nordquist are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Ontario County Court.
