Americans are not impressed with President Donald Trump’s stewardship of the economy, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, putting him underwater on the nation’s top issue even as he sees ratings among the best of his presidential career on other key priorities.

In particular, the imposition of some tariffs — and the threat of others — on allies and geopolitical foes alike has shaken the stock market and threatened the affordability of many goods.

For the first time, a majority of respondents in a CNN poll disapproved of President Donald Trump's handling of the economy.
