Volodymyr Zelensky has clashed with an American podcaster who suggested Vladimir Putin should be forgiven as part of a compromise that leads to a peace deal.

In a newly released three-hour interview, Moscow-born U.S. podcaster Lex Fridman tried to persuade President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “a serious person who loves his country.

"No apologies have been made by the Belarus president to Zelensky, for the simple reason that we have nothing to apologize for," Lukashenko's spokesperson Natalia Eismont said.

Natalia Eismont, Aleksandr Lukashenko's press secretary, refuted Volodymyr Zelensky's claim that the President of Belarus had apologized to him in the initial days of the Russian invasion. Many pieces of information provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda.

Alexander Lukashenko on Jan. 7 claimed rising tensions around Belarus are driven by foreign adversaries and accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of being directed to provoke Belarus into war.
