The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down in Macomb County during severe weather on Wednesday. It is Michigan's 29th confirmed tornado in 2025.Officials say the tornado landed near 14 Mile Road.

Detroit's high temperature on Thursday is expected to hit 75 degrees. The city's average monthly temperature in June is 79.7. Rain could repeat on Friday and Saturday, according to the weather service. Its meteorologists calculate the chances for rain on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning are about 20% to 40%.

A tornado watch was extended into Southwest Michigan early afternoon, specifically the counties of Berrien, Branch, Cass and St. Joseph where the watch will be in effect into 8 p.m. ET. There were waves of heavy rain and storm weather early in the day, including some strong thunderstorms that came through Oakland County in the early afternoon.

Much of the central United States, from Texas through Missouri and up into the Great Lakes region, was threatened by severe weather Wednesday, with the potential for powerful winds, large hail and even a few tornadoes.
