Grand Theft Auto VI Release Date Delayed to May 2026, Rockstar Games Announces
Rockstar Games announced on Friday that Grand Theft Auto VI 's release date has been pushed back to May 26, 2026. While a previous launch date was never officially announced, Take-Two Interactive—the publishing label that owns Rockstar— said in May 2024 that it was being targeted for fall 2025.
Rockstar shares tumbled after delaying the release of GTA 6
Shares of Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, tumbled by as much as 8% on Friday morning after it announced that it has delayed the launch by a year – to May 26, 2026. With the company being valued at around 40 billion US dollars, that is a lot of money being shaved off.
