Donald Trump said his administration is going to audit the U.S. gold reserves kept at Fort Knox in Kentucky. A drive to audit Fort Knox has gained steam from comments by Elon Musk recently. Conspiracy theories have emerged from time to time about whether the government is being truthful about the amount of gold stored there because of the forts high security.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are unsure if there is still gold at the famed US repository. The Treasury Department says it is checked every year.

"I can tell the American...all the gold is there,” Treasury chief Scott Bessent said, pushing back at Trump and Musk's skepticism.
