The Arab countries are among the top recipients of American military aid, but forcing Palestinians out of their remaining territory could destabilize the entire region.

Donald Trump hoped the alternate site would be “really nice,” ensuring that Palestinians wouldn’t worry about returning after Gaza’s reconstruction.

Trump floated the idea on Saturday, saying he would urge the leaders of the two Arab countries to take in Gaza’s now largely homeless population, so that “we just clean out that whole thing.”
