The Cavaliers stormed back to tie the game at 107 with just seconds remaining and had a chance to tie or win the game on the final possession with the Rockets leading 109-107. Bizarrely, Rockets forward Tari Eason fouled Darius Garland on a 3-point attempt, giving the Cavaliers sharpshooter a chance to tie or win the game at the line.
Alperen Sengun sank two free throws with 4.5 seconds left and the Houston Rockets survived a seven-minute scoring drought in the fourth quarter to outlast the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 109-108 on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers are currently 15-4 on the road with a point differential of 10, while the Rockets have a 6-4 record in their last ten games at home.
The Rockets are coming off an ugly offensive performance against the Pistons but had scored at least 119 points in their previous seven contests. Over the last eight games, Houston is second in the NBA in offensive rating and 11th in pace, significant upgrades from earlier in the season.
