The “American Idol” winner, 41, was slated to sing “America the Beautiful” at the ceremony inside the US Capitol with the accompaniment of the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. However, she was ultimately left without a band or an instrumental track.

The audience, including outgoing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, sang along with country singer for her performance of “America the Beautiful” during Trump’s inauguration ceremony.

In a gray dress with diamond jewelry, Underwood confidently worked through the song. She stood just in front of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as she sang, and afterward, as she thanked the crowd for singing with her, Biden could be seen mouthing "Good job" to her.

With the help of backing vocals from the Armed Forces Choir and the inauguration audience, Underwood sang "America the Beautiful" a cappella. When Underwood finished her performance, she was met with a congratulatory handshake from President Trump and former President Joe Biden.

The country star had to overcome an audio snafu before delivering her rendition of "America the Beautiful" after Trump was sworn in.

Trump has long struggled to get high-wattage celebrities to perform at his events. In 2017, the list of musicians who reportedly turned down performing at Trump’s first inauguration included Elton John, Garth Brooks, Celine Dion, Idina Menzel and KISS.
