The Milwaukee Bucks acquiring Bradley Beal from the Phoenix Suns as part of a Jimmy Butler trade seems more likely than ever now.

There have been rumors lately that the Bucks might be interested in taking on Bradley Beal as part of a larger trade that would send Heat forward Jimmy Butler to the Suns. However, NBA insider Chris Haynes says in a Twitter video that Milwaukee hasn’t contacted Phoenix at all to ask about a potential Beal trade.

The trouble with including Beal is that he has a no-trade clause. He can therefore veto any trade the Suns present him with, and despite reports to the contrary, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic that Beal has not agreed to head to any specific teams in a possible deal.

The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly among the teams that have sniffed around Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler in a possible trade, but with the Phoenix Suns still pursuing him aggressively, there is a way that the Bucks could get in on a possible Butler deal without actually landing the mercurial forward.

Now, Butler is back away from the team again one day after the Phoenix Suns acquired three protected first-round picks from the Utah Jazz in exchange for their 2031 first-round pick. Several reports have suggested that these picks could help Phoenix better facilitate a trade for Butler.

There are still a few other teams that the three-time NBA All-Star Beal, 31, would reportedly approve a trade to. But with the Bucks apparently out of the running, it appears much likelier now that Beal (and also by extension Butler) might just be staying put through the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
