President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin held talks Friday in Alaska about the war in Ukraine. The meeting at a military base in Anchorage could reshape that conflict as well as relations between Moscow and Washington.

Trump held a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska at which the US president aligned himself with Putin by backing off his demand for a ceasefire amid peace-talk negotiations.

The push for a bilateral meeting comes after the US president met Putin in Alaska last week, and welcomed seven European leaders and Zelensky to the White House on Monday. Trump admitted the conflict was "a tough one" to solve and conceded it was possible the Russian president was not interested in ending hostilities.
