Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday criticised the Congress-National Conference alliance after the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed a resolution calling for the restoration of the special status the erstwhile state had under Article 370 of the Constitution. The Assembly had passed the resolution on Wednesday.

The resolution opposing the revocation of Article 370 and restoring the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was passed on Wednesday by a voice vote, with all parties barring the BJP supporting it.

In his rally, Modi said that "no power can bring back Article 370" in Jammu and Kashmir as long as he remains in office.

The Congress is in alliance with the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir where the Legislative assembly has passed a resolution to bring back Article 370 in the UT.
