A number of roads in parts of Belfast were affected by flash flooding following heavy rain on Friday. Police said the Laganbank Road in the city centre was "not passable" and the Lisburn Road, Boucher Road and Botanic Avenue were also impacted.

Behind extreme heat, flooding is the second-greatest cause of weather-related deaths in the United States. Flood alerts issued by the NWS aim to alert people to nearby flood impacts. People are urged to never drive through flooded roads, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

On Friday at 7:47 p.m. the NWS Fort Worth TX released a flash flood warning in effect until 11 p.m. for Parker County.

On Sept. 27, the small Arizona town of Globe was hit hard by flash floods, destroying houses and businesses, and taking three lives. Now, the Salvation Army and community members are banding together for repairs after the catastrophic disaster.
