The NWS Eureka CA issued a beach hazards statement at 2:54 a.m. on Thursday valid from Friday 6 p.m. until Sunday midnight.

At 2:14 p.m. on Thursday, the NWS Eureka CA released a beach hazards statement in effect until 5 p.m. The statement is for Coastal Del Norte, Northern Humboldt Coast and Southwestern Humboldt.

Humboldt County residents are mourning three members of a Eureka family who were swept into the waves Saturday at Big Lagoon, including a 16-year-old Arcata High School student who remains missing.
