Rookie Chandler Simpson raced home to score the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning and had his first three-hit game for the Tampa Bay Rays, who beat the San Diego Padres 4-2 for their first sweep of the season.

The 4-2 win completed a sweep of the Padres; extended the Rays’ winning streak to five, their longest in nearly a year; and got them back to .500 for the first time since mid-April. Zack Littell, after deserving better in several outings on the way to an 0-5 start, earned his first win, allowing the two runs over five innings.
