Mark Vientos laced a two-run double, All-Star lefty David Peterson pitched out of trouble for six effective innings and the New York Mets held off the San Francisco Giants 2-1 for their sixth consecutive victory.

The Mets offense was quiet through the first four innings on Saturday night, but scored two runs in the fifth, and held on to beat the San Francisco Giants, 2-1

David Peterson encountered more traffic than the Bay Bridge in rush hour, but was resourceful enough Saturday night to record outs when the Mets needed them.
