As his baseball team nears a groundbreaking in Las Vegas, A’s owner John Fisher is reportedly preparing to sell his other sports team to help finance the stadium.

Fisher has hired investment bank Moelis & Co. to help him sell a controlling share of the Major League Soccer club.

John Fisher, who also owns the Athletics, confirmed that he is selling the San Jose Earthquakes, which he paid about $20 million for in 2007 and is now valued at $540 million.
