It's not quite been the hottest day of the year, but temperatures peaked at 33C in the UK today as England entered its fourth heatwave of the summer. As evening draws in, amber and yellow health alerts remain in place for all of England, lasting until 18:00 BST tomorrow.

Heat health alerts have been extended into next week for much of England after the fourth heatwave of the summer brought thunderstorms and showers.

Southern England will be hotter than Bali as Britain braces for its fourth heatwave of the summer. The UK Health Security Agency ( UKHSA) issued an amber alert covering the West Midlands, East Midlands, South East, London, and East of England with temperatures set to surpass 30C (86F).
