An air quality alert is in effect for all of Massachusetts as smoke from Canadian wildfires descends into the Boston area.

The National Weather Service reported an updated air quality alert at 10:15 a.m. on Monday in effect until 11:15 p.m. for Northern Worcester and Southern Worcester as well as Franklin, Middlesex, Essex,

Massachusetts could see hazy skies throughout the day Monday as wildfire smoke from Canada drifts into the Bay State. The smoke prompted National Weather Service forecasters to issue an Air Quality Alert blanketing the entire state, warning that the air may be unhealthy for sensitive groups.
